Vermont

Vermont is located in the New England region of the United States, in the northeastern part of the country. The state has a population of 608,827, making it the second least populous state (second to only Wyoming). The only New England state with no coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, Vermont is notable for the Green Mountains in the west and Lake Champlain in the northwest. Most of the activity in Stowe is centered in the historic Village and along the Mountain Road (Route 108) that extends from the Village about 5 miles to the ski area. It is easy to get around, and in the winter there is a free shuttle that runs frequently between the Village and the Mountain.

Route 4 runs East-West through town and Route 7 runs North-South. Business Route 4 runs along the southern edge of the downtown. Generally, it is a 4 hour drive from New York City, a 3 hour drive from Boston and a 4 hour drive from Montreal.
